Tryouts
Introduction
- FYBC teams practice 2 hours/weekend (except holidays). Gym are in Fremont/Union City/Newark area.
- All teams will participate various tournaments, AAU, NJB, Asian league, etc.
- Regular season is from Aug to May. 9th grade & up will cease practice between Nov to Feb
- Summer camp is from Jun to Jul
- Fee
- Member Fee collected by club (semi-annually), for gym, insurance & operations; $110/mo. 24/25
- Registration Fee collected by club (one time), for new player registration club; $60/
- Jersey fee collected by club (as needed), for Jersey top, short, & warmup shirt; $140/set;
- Team Fee collected by team (as needed), for team activities & tournaments’; vary from team to team.
- FYBC is looking for players with enthusiastic personality (attitude, commitment, trainability), and competitive basketball skills (athletic, fundamental, team work).

- 2024/2025: Boy: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th-grades. Girl: 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th-grades.
- Teams 2025/2026: Boy: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, & 9th-grades. Girl: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, & 9th-grades.

- Apply IMMEDIATELY for a tryout for the current school year
- 7/8th graders may fill the tryout application at any time.
- 4/5/6th graders must fill the tryout application before Apr 1st, 2025.
- 3rd graders, who can keep up with 4th grade team, are welcome to fill the application before Apr 1st, 2025.
- If there is a position opened, team manager will email applicant for immediate tryout.
- Apply for the ANNUAL tryout (4th weekend of May) for incoming school year, 2024/25
- Current 3/4/5/6th graders may fill the tryout application between Apr 1st and May 15th, 2025.
- Team manager will email (around the 3rd weekend of May) the annual tryout invitation to applicants.
Before Tryout: Tryout Invitation and Confirmation
- One week before the tryout, team manager will email “Tryout Invitation – date/time/location” to players.
- Upon receiving “Tryout Invitation”, players must reply to accept or decline the invitation.
- Fail to reply before the deadline, will be treated as “Decline the tryout invitation.”
- To request Makeup Tryout, players must email team manager before reply-deadline. It is coach’s discretion to grant the makeup tryout. (It is not guarantee that there is any position available after original tryout date.
Tryout Day
- Tryout duration is two hours. No drop-in tryout during annual tryout.
- Players wear White t-shirt (no picture/large letter), basketball shoes, & shorts (no jewelry/watch/ear ring).
- Players have to bring towel, water, and a basketball (marked with player’s name).
- Arrive 20 minutes earlier to check-in, wait for instruction to enter the gym.
- If player is late for 5 minutes, he/she will be eliminated from the tryout.
- Players, Parents, and Spectators should follow Covid-19 safety protocols and measures set by FYBC, and should not interfere the tryout process; no applaud, cheer, nor side-line coaching etc.
Post Tryout; Admit/Deny Notice
- One week after tryout, team manager will email “Admit, or Deny” notice to all tryout participants.
- Players must reply (Accept or Decline) to team manager. Fail to reply will be treated as “Decline”.
